Acne is the common term for infections and inflammation of the skin that result in spots and lesions appearing on the face. It is not limited to faces only, though. Lipophilic yeast can be one of the few potential causes of acne. It has an affinity for oils and lipids, which causes it to be attracted to such secretions all over your body, particularly your face. They are often referred to by professionals in the dermatology field as Malassezia, and they assist other acne causing bacteria to multiply uncontrollably. Acne can appear just about anywhere on your body, although most people experience it on their faces only. Other parts where the lesions are commonly found to grow are your chest, your back, your shoulders and your upper arms. It is possible to develop acne as an allergic reaction to some substance in your environment. The body has all kinds of ways by which it compensates for threats, and I daresay some of them are not things that we readily understand. An outbreak of acne is not particularly a common response but it has been observed. I know folks who break out in pimples and zits once they set their tongues upon peanuts, walnuts, and even grease.
